Kun häly katoaa, on helpompi keskittyä olennaiseen. Siihen, mikä vie minua eteenpäin? Kun markkinat heiluvat, Nordea Private Bankingin asiantuntemus ja oma sijoitusjohtajani tuovat selkeyttä kohinnan keskelle. Siksi valitsen kumppanin, joka vie minut askeleen edelleen. Hell do both. Do neither. Either way, thanks for your support. Alright, friends, so tonight we welcome author Joshua L. Hood. In this one, Paul's got eight dollars, one working headline, and eighty miles to the next town. The truck stop's still open though, but that's about where his luck runs out. And yes I am aware that this one's been done quite a few times, but I hope I've brought something new to the production that'll make this enjoyable for you. So without further delay, from author Joshua L. Hood, I give you a truck stop horror.

An island of life floated in the distance. Straight ahead and just off to the right. It flickered behind the trees, then sank below an invisible ridge as the Labaron rattled down the hill in the dark. A single headlight stabbed into the night through ancient pines ahead of it. Paul eased off the gas a touch and let gravity do its part. On the last hill he felt the sputter and lurch of a thirsty gas tank. He didn't know how many heels the car had left in it. The light island was growing closer. Paul might make it yet. With a triumphant sputter and pop, the Liberan rolled past the fuel pumps and into a parking spot at the edge of the lot.

How does Drew Blood introduce the “Truckstop Horror” story and the guest author?

Drew Blood 4:20
Paul had eight dollars in his pocket, and didn't want to spend it all refueling the clunker before he got some coffee to refuel himself. Since the next town was over eighty miles away, he was aware that he might have to skip paying for gas altogether, which would be easier if he waited to fuel up until after he ate. It all depended on the price of coffee and some pecan pie. Gas was ninety two cents a gallon here. It was always more expensive at these backwoods truck stops, and so was the coffee. Eight bucks doesn't go as far as it used to, he lamented. Stepping out of his car he felt like he was indeed on a floating island in the center of a black sea. The world beyond the orange floodlights had blinked into darkness when he pulled into the parking lot.
Drew Blood 5:12
Paul liked that. It made him feel safer when the unknown possibilities of the world were at bay. A smaller world was easier to handle. And from the island of light, the only sign of the feral wilderness surrounding him was the smell of trees and the creak of wood swaying in the breeze.
