Look at the tags hanging in your closet. Made in India. Made in Indonesia. Made in Bangladesh. Could it have been made in that factory that collapsed? Approximately 74% of  human trafficking is labor trafficking. The news has been filled with reports and heartbreaking stories of lost lives in Bangladesh April 24, 2013. More than 1,000 workers lost their lives, and it requires us to take a step back and think about how we are connected to forced or bonded labor. In this episode of the Ending Human Trafficking Podcast, Director Sandra Morgan and GCWJ Board member Dave Stachowiak take time to reflect on how, as consumers, we can respond to this tragedy. The California Supply Chain Transparency Act allows consumes to learn more about what their favorite companies do to ensure that the people involved in making the products are being treated justly and know their rights. Take time to research companies and products you use, seek out fair-trade alternatives, and be a voice to companies not doing their part to ensure that workers in their supply chain are being treated fairly.
