Man City have been informed two or three days ago that this had happened and then it's and it's broken today. Now the problem is something's happened today but not nothing has happened in many ways because we know that City have have failed the charges or been found guilty of the charges, but there's no sanctions that have been issued yet, there's no penalties been issued by the Premier League. aren't commenting, Man City have just stuck to that statement so although we now know that City have been found guilty of these charges, there is an appeals process.
So if you're waiting to find out the final conclusion resolution, it might still be a year or two before we get that.
Yeah, absolutely. Obviously, that's been a big talking point though, Mark, if I can stay with you because there has been more of a feeling from what we have been seeing is that there will be sanctions laid out quicker than some people would have expected. Given how long and drawn out this whole process has been, many were asking, Oh, will it be this long until we see what the sanctions are? But many believe it will be quicker.
Yeah, well the the insight though, the intel that we've had for a while is that the the verdict would come followed by the sanctions and then and then the appeal would process would run alongside that. So hopefully ra sooner rather than later we'll find out what the the penalties are and it they could be quite severe. I mean the ultimate the nuclear option available to the Premier League is expulsion. Now I I just don't see how that happens. I think there's that's highly unlikely, but you know, Man City could be docked a huge amount of points which could see them, you know, much relegated, massive fines which could obviously damage the club you know going forward. And potentially, you know, directors suspended or banned from holding a position at the club.
So this could be endless for Man City. And if they are found guilty after the appeal, then lots of clubs who will feel that they missed out on a Champions League place one year because of Man City or because you know perhaps they that that Man City denied them a trophy because of what happened and or they've overspent on wages then that they can't of the the litigation from other clubs will carry on because we know that Burnley have already taken action against Everton for £35 million loss just just by Everton's rather kind of minuscule uh Premier League charge a couple of years ago.
