Welcome back to another episode of Excuse My Grandma. It's Kim and my co-host. And my gal. Grandma, it is our final week of the Palm Beach season. It's our Palm Beach finale episode. Boo hoo. What will you miss about being together?
Well, we'll still be together, but in Florida, I think I'll miss the sunshine. I'm hoping that when we get back together in New York City, that the sun will be out and it'll be a little bit warmer than it's been. They had a very bad winter, but I think spring is there. I can't wait to see the tulips and the daffodils in the park. So I'm ready to go back. I've had a wonderful, wonderful season here this year.
I feel it changes your mood a lot when you're in sun versus in cold, for sure. But I also feel like the humidity is not great for hair. So I've been in a slick back every single day of being in Florida. But older people don't do slick back buns.
Well, I think nobody even, they don't care anymore when you get to a certain age.
But your hair's not frizzy.
You just put a lot of hairspray. No, well, I have such straight hair. I have just such straight hair. Florida doesn't affect me and neither does New York. Worst hair for me is when I go to the beach. If I go to the beach, then there's no hair left. yeah but you know it's been that's the least of my worries down here i don't sit in the sun that much so i don't you know i actually just got a report from my doctor take more vitamin d which i said oh are you kidding me and he said no you have to because i guess i used to be in the sun a lot yeah i played a lot of golf and um and i'm not doing that now So you do need a certain amount of sunlight. For sure. But not good for the skin.
Yeah. I'll definitely miss the easy access to your closet because even in New York or the Hamptons, I'm not like in your apartment where I can just walk in, have double the options.
It's all right, I moved all this stuff out of the apartment here. So much of it is going back. Yeah, we packed everything up. Yeah, we're packed up and ready to go back next week. So, you know.
Well, there were so many, like, as we were packing up, like, vintage items, you didn't even really, not that you didn't know you had it, but you really don't wear a lot of.
No, no, I don't, and. What I've decided to do as a strategy is to leave those items like my dressy, very dressy clothes down here because New York and the Hamptons lifestyle is very casual, much more so than here. So a lot of white pants, a lot of beige pants and black pants are going back.
But even like some of your... vintage jewelry or bags or sweaters like that are 30 years old. A lot of people now they want all this vintage stuff. And they're like there's pop ups around the city with vintage items or everybody's so into thrifting now. But I just have to go into your closet, which is really great.
The prices went crazy on most of these items that are the designer clothes and even in the in the stores that are knocking them off. I think that's why Amazon was so popular and Walmart with their knockoffs. Because people do see... They're called dupes. Dupes. That's how the young people call them. Yeah, well, I think people want these items because they see influencers wearing them. But they're certainly not going to pay the money. And in this economy, everybody should sort of scale back. And they're a good copy. So, you know what? Good luck to everybody. I go into my closet and find things I haven't worn. And everything is lightly used. I never really kill anything. It's sort of I put them away carefully. I stuff them.
i put them in bags yeah no one really talks about the treatment of those items you should no i saw something recently with the prices going up people are going to have to learn how to treat their bags and maintain them like even you're always so annoyed when you come to my apartment because i don't like stuff my bag and you should or keep them in dust bags because i like to see everything displayed yeah but you know what's in there and or leave the handle out
