I am delighted to be joined with you today because anyone that listens to this podcast will know a lot of the time we speak about grief and loss, and that can come in a lot of different forms. A lot of times we speak about death. I'll speak to someone sitting across me who's lost a family member, for example. um and nine times out of ten I like people to reach out to me uh because then I know they want to do it you know but on occasion I come across people on Instagram or wherever and I see them telling their story and I came across you recently and I was like wow he has a story to tell so I reached out to you and here you are so I'm really grateful for you you've come all the way from the

Yeah. So you have a big story. And the thing about it is, I do this a lot actually with people, is I go in blind. I'm like, don't tell me a story, just give me the bones of it and we'll go from there. So I don't know either what we're going to sit and chat about, but I know that you have a story And a lot of it is around, I suppose, loss in terms of addiction and loss, I suppose, in a way of not that closeness with your son. So we'll get into that in a while. But what we might do is go back maybe to your childhood. And what was that like in, what part of Kerry are you from?

Yeah. Very scenic. It is. Big tourism town. Big sports town, of course, coming from Kerry. I suppose it's one of those things. You just get into football early. I have two older brothers and they're 10 years older than me. Right. So it's kind of living up to that reputation as well, you know.

Well, there is, it's something that's developed over the last few years. It's after getting better, but we used to kind of make, we used to make a joke before at that time, we wouldn't even know what it looked like if we saw Hurley.
