NASCAR runs on speed, power, and ethanol. And that starts right here in Iowa. Because we glow the corn, we turn it into fuel, and we keep the engines running. Iowa's corn farmers and ethanol have been driving NASCAR for over 20 million miles. Every lap of the Iowa Corn 350 shines a spotlight on what we grow best. 20 million plus miles on ethanol. 95% of cars can use E15.

What's Working in Ag has been a strong part of Farm for Profit for a long time, ever since the beginning. I would say we were even doing What's Working in Ag at our conferences when we started in 2014, which is ironically the same year that our guest company started here as well. So I've got TJ Heimich from Conterra here hanging out in studio. Thanks for coming up. Hey, thanks, Tanner. Appreciate you having me. I had the Rothermeck in my head still. I was like, I know it's not even there. And so shout out to him as well. Big fan of his work, and he's a fan of ours too. But we're focused on you guys at Conterra and what's working for farmers today. So thanks again. Yeah, thanks for having me. Tell us a little bit about what your job is there now, and then we'll go back into your role.
Yeah, I'm the chief credit officer at Conterra. So I still work on larger farm and ranch real estate loan applications, but I oversee our credit and underwriting team. And then I work on our special assets team also.
And you've been with the company since the beginning. You just got done telling me you're employee number one. Employee number one.
Are you still everybody's number one? Probably not. Especially the sales staff at times, I'm sure. I'm the one who has to tell them no. So, no, I like to think that when people think of Conterra, they think of all of our staff now and Conterra. Paul Erickson, our founder, was kind of the face of Conterra when we got started, and he certainly still is a big piece of that. But no, I think we have outstanding staff. A lot of them have been with us since the beginning, and when people think of Conterra, they think of a lot of different people now.
Yeah, and it's fun. We've had a full-length conversation about what financing looks like, especially pertains to ag real estate and where the ag economy is headed. And there's a big focus on two things out of this short segment we get today. It's going to be why relationships work in farming and why folks in your position as a chief credit officer work for farmers as well.
I think the biggest thing is relationships do matter. I think you see there's a lot more online presence in ag lending now than ever, and the reality is the older generation still holds the majority of farm real estate in the country, and a handshake and a smile and a lunch or dinner goes a long way to building relationships. And it's some of the type of relationship you can't build just over email or an occasional phone call. I think being on the farm is meaningful and impactful. And, you know, it's still a relationship business. As much as we've tried and some companies successfully have tried to make it an online platform, I think there's still really the human connection that makes the world of difference.
I see that across all parts of the agriculture industry. Yes, there are a lot of pieces of technology pushing ag forward. But even if we're talking about ways to order chemicals online to be able to save or lower your margin, you know, being able to order your seed online, a lot of our listeners still want a trusted person that they can work with.
