Hi guys and welcome to this week's episode of Father Knows Something. Do you wanna hear what Father Knows?
What?
Father knows that this is our I think he's our temporary um Saving dog. A foster? He's a foster. He's a foster dog, and uh Morgan wanted to foster a dog and save save another living little dog. thing. So she went to the pound and she got him defosterum. He's not little. He is not little. He looks like he weighs a hundred pounds, even though they say he's malnourished. But he is a beautiful dog. You must have guy you guys must have bathed him today or something.
He is Dakota. Dakota.
Yeah. And he's sweet and he's uh obedient.
And he's here for a big episode.
Wait, and what what episode are we doing? Well, we've
been building up to this for a while.
Is this confessions?
It is.
Oh wow. Oh well. Let me let me do my collar. Okay, guys, I got the collar all buttoned up. Let's do the confessions. Anything else to share? It's been a crazy two weeks for me. It has I've been all over the the uh I I would say the Americas. North America. I did not go to South America, but I've been through Can I wasn't Canada. I Was in back east? Midwest mountain region and now home, thank goodness and Think I'm here for for at least a few weeks.
That's good.
Got home last night, three in the morning. Got up at six, back at it.
Okay. Well. Here are some confessions. Let's go.
Number. One. Number one. And this story is the one that actually inspired the theme.
Okay.
Because it starts, confession. I, thirty female, have info about my boyfriend's thirty-one male father that he doesn't know about. About a year ago, my boyfriend of over six years got a call from his dad after his dad had a huge argument with his wife. who has been my boyfriend's stepmom for over twenty years. During the call, his dad basically made it seem like the argument was his wife's fault. Which caused my boyfriend to become angry with his stepmom. This was especially significant because my boyfriend and his stepmom already have had a rocky relationship. I texted his stepmom and asked just a general, hey, I heard you guys are having issues. I don't want to prior anything, but I wanted to make sure you were okay and I'm here for you if you need anything.
She told me that she just found out that my boyfriend's dad had been cheating on her for several years. She asked me not to tell my boyfriend because she knows how much he looks up to and admires his dad and didn't want to ruin their relationship. My boyfriend's dad and stepmom are still together and I think his younger siblings probably know a bit more than my boyfriend. But I've still kept this a secret from him. He looks up to his dad and relates to his dad a bit too much in my opinion, and takes his dad's issues personally. I think he just really relates to his dad and sees them as having so much in common that I think he becomes blind to his dad's mistakes and blames his stepmom for everything.
Ideal outcome for my boyfriend to not enmesh himself so much with his dad in a way that he takes on his dad's issues as personal attacks. And that my boyfriend stops blaming his stepmom for everything. But also while staying true to his stepmom and not breaking my promise to her and spread their drama.
And we needed to pass the message. should she break her confidence and confess to her uh her boyfriend That she's aware of it. You know, it's really sucky when somebody puts somebody in a position where they have to not be transparent with their mate.
Mm-hmm.
And it's almost like when somebody says, I'm gonna share something, but you please can't you can't share it with them. Are you better off I saying, Don't share it with me? Because it keeps you out from being in the muck. Where you're where you're at. I I don't know if she should really go to her boyfriend's stepmom and say, Look, you really have me in a in a really bad place. You shared it with me and I'm really glad I can be there for you. But I don't want to keep secrets from from him. That that is detrimental to our relationship. And I'm letting you know now that I'm gonna give you two options.
