And I welcome this morning for the final time this week, the wonderful Juliette Sali from Ausbiz. Juliette, welcome. Thank you so much. Nice to be with you, Sean and Adam. It's your last show. Our Sunday show is, as I say, more relaxed than the weekdays, so perhaps not quite as loose as Saturday. I'm the interviewer today because Michael normally does that and he's away having a good time. So the five questions we have, they're all media related since all three of us. That's kind of our profession. Starting question number one, Juliette, did you always want to get into media?
I did. I did, in fact. So I'm one of those very, and I do say very lucky because I look at my nieces and when they're sort of, you know, struggling with what they want to do and thinking about it. I knew from, you know, I would say 12, but definitely 16 that I wanted to be a journalist. And When I was in year 10, I started handing out, you know, letters and calling and cold calling and all of that back in the day when you had to use the old school communications to get some internships and work experience. And the first work experience I ever did was at Dolly magazine. And that was when I realized I didn't want to do print because there was too much sitting around. There was just, you know, hours and hours waiting for things to go back and forth.
So I realized I liked broadcast, the fast pace, deadline, in and out, go home, no homework after that. It's all done. And I've loved every day of my journalism career, I have to say, 25 years or something, just aging myself there.
Wow, Julia, that's fantastic. I've just got to quickly say, so when I was 16, I went to my local newspaper in Orange, the Central Western Daily, and did my work experience there for school and wanted to be a journalist ever since. Adam, what about you?
I'm still figuring it out, Sean. There's still time, right? So, no, I thought I'd go into business. I thought I'd go into, I know this will shock you, I thought I'd be into banking.
Really? So, Juliette, Adam has a really interesting background. Like he's managed rock bands. He's worked in quarries and places. Like you've done all sorts of stuff.
But he's a wannabe failed banker after all.
Yes, I aimed low from the very beginning. And then I just spent a lot of time figuring it out. I thought that first year in doing a degree in economics, which I really loved, I just thought, oh, I don't really want to do this full time. And I was working in a pub. So this is a bit of fun. And so I carried on working in hospitality and then music and so on. So honestly, I'm still figuring it out.
Okay, so staying with you, Adam, the question to how did you end up in media then if that was the case? So one of the bands that I worked with was in excess. I like the way you go. I like the way you go.
Tripped and fell into it. Haven't found the door yet.
Pretty much.

And then he goes, oh, one of the bands I was working with was in excess. Talk about bury the lead. No wonder you're not a journalist. Go on.
Which you can imagine still is and was then a highlight. And then I watched the music industry rise and then get disrupted by technology, by digitization. And so it was great. I had 12 years in the music business and then what's next? So I thought, oh, no, here, we'll go into a different one. TV. Oh, that was disrupted. by technology digitisation. Don't follow Adam. I know, I know. I'll go into radio. Oh, that was disruptive by digitisation. So and then I just worked with you, Sean, for the last six years and now also doing working in the out-of-home media industry. So no, I didn't always want to do it but I'm here and I'm really enjoying it.
So just at the very pointy end, quickly, how did you end up in media? How did you get into TV then?
