What is the scope and impact of the September Nor'easter hitting the East Coast?
A Nor'easter in September. I'm Daria Albinger. Fox News. A powerful Nor'easter is now barreling its way up the East Coast. More than 40 million people across 10 states face damaging winds, torrential rain, and beach erosion. Some coastal areas are already underwater. The Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks are already seeing big waves and erosion. Its conditions worsen toward New England. The storm is also disrupting travel with hundreds of flights delayed or canceled. More than 50,000 customers across the Northeast are without power at this hour.
How are state and local officials responding to emergency declarations in New York and New Jersey?
And this system is going to take its own sweet time as it moves into New England. Forecasters say some places could get a month's worth of rain in a day. Fox Weathers, Katie Byrne is in Ocean City, New Jersey.
After days of north and northeast winds, basically that water has been piling up into the back bays, making it harder for each tide to fully drain. So we've had multiple high tide cycles over the last few days, and now that we're getting into the worst of the storm, we still have multiple high tide cycles to go and a lot more water to deal with. actually an increased threat for the coast of New Jersey. Now we're expecting the entire coast essentially to experience major flooding. The rain totals have also gotten higher. Heavier rain is expected in New Jersey as well. The governor has declared a state of emergency in eight counties ahead of this just to make sure that those resources should be available should they be needed.
What were the key outcomes of President Trump’s meeting with China’s Xi Jinping on the Iran war and trade?
There are states of emergencies in effect at this hour in New York City as well as eight counties in New York State and eight counties in New Jersey. The weather has canceled a lot of events here in the city today, including the big Global Citizen Festival. That cancellation came less than 24 hours before the festival was to begin today on the Great Lawn of Central Park. Organizers say the decision was made in consultation with New York City and NYC Parks because of the threat of dangerous weather. It's the first time in 14 years it's been canceled. America's listening to Fox News. The Iran war was on the agenda during a state visit from China's President Xi. Here's Fox's Jared Happel.
President Trump says he and Chinese President Xi Jinping did talk about the war in Iran during the three-day state visits, along with the economy, trade, and AI.
America is very happy about this visit, and I'm sure China is very happy also.
Why is Dearborn, Michigan facing a federal discrimination lawsuit over religious holidays?
Great things for both countries. And it's been just very, very productive.
China is a top buyer of Iranian oil and has been accused of providing satellite imagery to the IRGC. Presidents Trump and Xi will see each other at least twice more this year at a November summit in China and the G20 in Miami in December. At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News.
One of the nation's largest Muslim communities is at the center of a federal discrimination lawsuit. It accuses Dearborn, Michigan, of creating a hostile environment to certain religions. The
suit is being brought by the Federalist senior legal correspondent, Margo Cleveland, and names the city of Dearborn and the mayor, Abdullah Hamoud, as defendants. And claims that by spending public resources... Recognizing only the holidays of the majority Muslim population, they are discriminating and making Christians and Jews feel like they don't belong.
What recent controversies have surfaced about OpenAI’s AI agents and data handling?
Part of the filing reads, quote, For too long, the city of Dearborn has been a hostile place for Christians and Jews. Defendant Hamoud has taken this hostility to the next level, openly conveying the message that Christians and Jews are not welcome in the city and are indeed second class citizens.
Fox's Chandlee Painter, OpenAI is investigating cases of its AI agents going beyond their assigned tasks on U.S. government websites. Outside researchers say some tried unsuccessfully to access education department data. OpenAI also confirming that its agency improperly posted 53 user-uploaded images to third-party sites.
