Chapter 2: What recent developments occurred with the Border Patrol in Minneapolis?
President Trump is sending Border Czar Tom Homan to Minneapolis after a chorus of calls for a reset. From the Wall Street Journal editorial board, time for ICE to pause in Minneapolis. The New York Post writing, it's time to de-escalate in Minneapolis, Mr. President. The Washington Post and New York Times editorial boards with similar messages.
President Trump posting online, Tom is tough but fair and will report directly to me. After Fox reported a number of rank and file officers were growing uneasy with DHS leadership's PR missteps, namely the immediate claim Alex Preddy planned to massacre law enforcement.
Well, this after the shooting of two people, Rene Good and Preddy in Minneapolis. Preddy was shot over the weekend by a Border Patrol agent who say he was armed with a handgun and had been interfering with an arrest. A massive snowstorm dumped feet of snow and ice over most of the U.S. this weekend. Fox Weather's Robert Ray reports on the aftermath here in New York.
The swath of this storm from Oklahoma to Texas to Arkansas, Louisiana and the deep south and all the way to the mid-Atlantic and here into the northeast wreaking havoc. There's snow on the ground, but it was raging with snow and ice that moved through here. Nearly a foot of snow fell here in Manhattan.
And the plows were out, people crossing streets, slipping, many folks, tourists and residents alone, as the city had nearly 3,000 pieces of equipment out trying to clear the five boroughs, 19,000 lane miles. That is a major task.
Over 1,000 people are without power in New York State, hundreds of thousands nationwide. At least 30 people are dead due to the storm. America's listening to Fox News.

A private aircraft crashed on takeoff from Bangor International Airport in Maine, killing all eight people on board. The Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed around 745 last night. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. The crash occurred as New England and much of the country grappled with a massive winter storm.
