The search deepening. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News. It's now been three weeks since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie as the FBI is examining a glove found near her Tucson home.
The problem with that is if the person who was wearing that glove and whose DNA is on and in that glove... has never committed the kind of crime that would get them into the CODIS database, then essentially you're back at square one. But what they will be trying to do, of course, is look at whether the DNA in that glove matches the DNA that was found in the house.
Fox's Jonathan Hunt in Tucson. President Trump has said if Nancy Guthrie is found dead, he will direct the Justice Department to seek the death penalty. Arizona also has a state death penalty on murder charges. Three people are dead, including the gunman, and three in critical condition after shooting at an ice rink in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, during a high school hockey game.
Chapter 2: What details emerged from the shooting incident in Pawtucket, Rhode Island?
A good Samaritan stepped in and interjected in the scene, and that's probably what led to a swift end of this tragic event.
Police Chief Tina Gonzalez, who said officers were on the scene within a minute and a half, and again said this was a targeted shooting. It appears to be a family dispute, but the investigation is ongoing. The Department of Homeland Security will remain shut down for at least a week and a half after lawmakers couldn't reach a deal last week. But Fox's Bill Maluchian reports.
Tom Homan says this DHS shutdown really isn't even impacting ICE.
ICE has continued to enforce law across the country. They're already funded.
Meanwhile, Senator John Fetterman is breaking from his own party, essentially saying that this partial government shutdown is a waste of time and it's hurting other DHS employees like TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard.
Congress is now in recess.
