Chapter 1: What actions are being taken to address TSA staffing issues?
ICE agents set to be deployed to U.S. airports. I'm Sue Gosman, Fox News. Well, the TSA is about to get some backup as the partial government shutdown continues. The latest from Fox is Ashley Strohmeyer.
President Trump is deploying ICE agents to airports across the country. It's all part of an effort to ease long TSA lines as more and more Department of Homeland Security employees call out of work due to missed paychecks. Some security lines have seen wait times of two to three hours due to those short staffing areas. And then Mr. Trump says the agents will also arrest undocumented immigrants.
This all stems from Congress's failure to fund DHS, which ran out of money more than a month ago.
Chapter 2: How is the U.S. responding to Iran's threats in the Strait of Hormuz?
Borders are Tom Homan will head that operation up. He says ICE agents will cover airport exits and entry points and then check IDs so TSA officers can focus on screenings. It's unclear how many agents will be involved.
The deadline is closing in after the U.S. gave Iran 48 hours Saturday to open the Strait of Hormuz to face the destruction of its power plants. Iran's parliament speaker warning now Tehran will target regional energy and desalination sites and retaliation. Israel, meantime, is bracing for some new attacks from Iran.
That's the sound of the sirens going off. That means the missiles are inbound, and we look off in the direction of Iran right now and wait to see where these missiles will appear in the sky. It's very different than the shorter-range rockets that we see out of Lebanon and we saw out of the Gaza Strip for so many years.
Chapter 3: What recent developments have occurred in Chicago regarding a college student's fatal shooting?
because those run out of fuel halfway, and you don't see the inbound rocket. You only see the interceptors go up. What's different about the things that come in from Iran is they're ballistic missiles, so they leave the atmosphere, and when they re-enter, it's almost like a meteor shower.

Chapter 4: What is the current situation with flooding in Hawaii?
to vote in federal elections. An arrest in the fatal shooting of a college student in Chicago. More from Fox's C.B. Cotton.
says ICE has lodged an arrest detainer for this illegal immigrant from Venezuela who has now been arrested for the death of college freshman Sheridan Gorman. The agency is identifying the suspect, Jose Medina Medina, and they shared this timeline saying in May 2023, he was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol and released into the country under the Biden administration.
A little more than a month later, the agency says Medina Medina was arrested for shoplifting in Chicago and released out into the streets once again. DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Biss writing in part, quote, We are calling on Governor Pritzker and Chicago's sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this criminal illegal alien back into American neighborhoods.
Chicago police have described the shooting as an ambush.
Chapter 5: What is the status of Mark Wayne Mullen's nomination for DHS?
They've also recovered a gun and are awaiting a residue test. Evacuation warnings have been lifted for the north shore of Oahu, but there is still more heavy flooding and rain in the forecast for the Hawaiian island. Flash flood watches are still in effect. I don't even know what to think. It's just devastating. just not ourselves, it's just friends and families and loved ones.
Hawaii's Governor Josh Green says it's the worst flooding Hawaii has seen in 20 years. Cost of repair of the damage could easily top a billion dollars. The Senate is expected to vote tomorrow or Tuesday to confirm Mark Wayne Mullen, President Donald Trump's choice to run the Department of Homeland Security in a cloture or test vote today.
It did have the necessary support to move the nomination ahead.
