This weekend is shaping up to be a headache. for tens of millions in the storm's path. The weather expected to dump around a foot of snow in the nation's capital. The federal government also coordinating closely with states. Officials in Georgia preparing for significant amounts of ice. But help may not be instant. A storm expected to affect millions all the way from Maine south to Texas.
Grocery store shelves in Tennessee emptying and quickly. And people are fueling up with propane in South Carolina.
As Fox's David Spunn, me time this weekend's winter storm bringing uncharacteristically cold weather to places people are unaccustomed to. Here's Fox's Edmund Brown.
The biting cold and ice expected this entire weekend will bring deep freeze conditions to communities throughout the southern states from Texas to the Carolinas. States of emergency are declared. For residents, it means enduring weather they normally don't experience. Heart freezes,
Freezes can bring problems to power grids, causing blackouts, meaning homes heated by central air conditioning could be at risk for dangerous health hazards. Gas power generator use can also be problematic as they must be operated outdoors and never inside. Water pipes could freeze and roads can be undriveable. At exceptional risk are seniors and those relying on home care and meal delivery.

Meantime, air travel expected to be snarled nationwide for several days. Delays and cancellations are already starting to mount. Nearly 8,000 flights are already canceled through Sunday, according to FlightAware.com. America's listening to Fox News.

But she did not want to answer questions about President Trump's proposed deal. Ahead of her trip here, the Danish leader said NATO has no authority to negotiate on her country's behalf.
and an apparent rebuke of Trump's deal brokered with the help of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. American officials say negotiations continue between the U.S. and Denmark. The details remain unclear. Greenland's prime minister says the island is not for sale. The people here sound relieved that the U.S. will not use force to take the island, but remain skeptical about any proposed deal.
Fox's Lucas Tomlinson, President Trump says the deal would be very good for everyone. Details are emerging on the migrant that crossed into the U.S. illegally before abandoning his five-year-old when running from law enforcement. That sparked an outcry from those who say ICE agents wrongfully detained the child.
Those initial photos of this five-year-old boy that was left alone outside went viral online with school officials claiming that federal agents had arrested a preschool and were using him as bait. The DNC and Democratic lawmakers quickly piled on those initial claims with Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar posting, don't tell us this is about the worst of the worst. That is a lie.
And even when DHS tried to respond with what it says actually happened, Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro replied by calling the agency sick liars. Federal officials laid out its version of what actually happened, saying that the father abandoned the boy.
And then when officers tried to go to the home and asked to get someone to take care of the child, that the people inside would not open those doors.
