This package would split the Homeland Security funding from a package of five other major spending bills. The Senate's plan is to pass a two-week funding package for Homeland Security at current spending level until February 13th. President Trump is signaling support, saying he's working hard with Congress to ensure they are able to fully fund the government.
The Senate's working to get agreement to fast track the change.

The House would also have to approve the package. But after the longest government shutdown in U.S. history last fall, it sounds like nobody really wants to shut it down again.

Homan says the state attorney general, Keith Ellison, tells the Trump administration that jails can start notifying ICE when they are going to release a wanted criminal illegal alien. This is a pretty big shift because the Trump administration has been asking sanctuary jurisdictions like Minnesota to at least notify them when they are going to release wanted criminal illegal aliens.
Now the state of Minnesota says it will notify them.
Chapter 3: What recent developments occurred in the case of a man impersonating an FBI agent?
Fox's Matt Finn in Minneapolis, this nearly a week after the deadly shooting of Alex Preddy by two border agents. Authorities say a man claiming to be an FBI agent showed up at a federal jail in New York City and told officers he had a court order to release Luigi Mangione.
Mark Anderson was arrested and charged with impersonating an FBI agent in a foiled bid to free Mangione from the Metropolitan Detention Center. That's where he's being held while awaiting state and federal murder trials in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
A criminal complaint filed against Anderson did not identify the person he attempted to free, but a law enforcement official confirmed that it was Mangione.
