Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is scrutinizing how Representative Ilhan Omar's husband, Tim Minot, could have made so much money since she entered Congress in 2019. It's rare for a panel besides the Ethics Committee to conduct such an inquiry. Most of Omar's possible wealth flows from her husband. A recent financial disclosure report shows that Minot owns assets of up to $30 million, much of it from his investment firm. It was worth up to $25 million two years ago, but as little as a dollar in 2023. Minot also had a stake in a California wine venture worth up to $5 million in 2024, but as little as $15,000 a few years ago. It's reportedly not made wine in years.
