Chapter 2: What key policies did President Trump highlight during his address?
Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger delivered the Democrats' rebuttal to the president. The president on Tuesday night also paid tribute to the Olympic gold medal winning U.S. men's hockey team receiving a standing ovation from both sides of the aisle for their heroics in Italy. The president saying he'll award U.S. goaltender Connor Hellebuck with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Also Tuesday night at the State of the Union, like a year ago, Congressman Al Green was ejected from President Trump's State of the Union address. The second straight year, the Texas Democrat's been removed from the House chamber during the speech.
Green was seen on the House floor waving a sign that read, Black people aren't apes, the gesture an apparent reference to a video that the president had posted on social media this month that included images of former President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. President Trump said he didn't watch the whole video before it was posted to Truth Social.
And the president issuing two Congressional Medals of Honor during the State of the Union won to Chief Warrant Officer Eric Slover, an Army Chinook helicopter pilot who was wounded during the raid to capture Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro. The second went to an 100-year-old Navy fighter pilot, Royce Williams. America's listening to Fox News.
