2.545 - 25.566

Federal help is coming to Portland. I'm Chris DiMeo, Fox News. President Trump is sending troops to Portland, Oregon to tackle what he says are domestic terrorists. Portland Mayor Keith Wilson welcomes federal help and not this kind. Imagine if the federal government sent instead a hundred teachers or a hundred engineers or a hundred addiction specialists.

Police and local leaders also say troops are not needed. Fox's Madeline Rivera has more on the troop deployment from the White House. The president making the announcement on Truth Social, saying that he's directed his secretary of war, Pete Hegstaff, to send troops to protect Portland at any of their ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa and other domestic terrorists.

While there have been protests at the ICE facility in South Portland, the state's Democratic governor, Tina Kotak, maintains there is no national security threat in the city. Kotak says they have been provided no information on the reason or purpose of any military mission.

Regardless, state and local officials have already reported seeing armored vehicles and more federal agents in the city, something they dismiss as merely a show of force. This comes after a string of attacks on ICE agents. With the government shutdown looming next week, President Trump and congressional leaders are coming together to discuss ways to avoid it.

President Trump will meet with top congressional leaders at the White House on Monday to try and avoid a government shutdown.

Chapter 2: What are the reactions from local leaders regarding federal troops?

83.989 - 99.468

Right now, lawmakers are far apart on reaching a deal. The main sticking points are over spending and health care. If they fail to pass a spending package by midnight Tuesday, federal workers won't get paid and many services will pause. The White House is also threatening mass firings.

It's going to take from now until Tuesday to get it due east of Jacksonville. So we're a long way from anything here in South Carolina. But the track comes up, stalls, and then goes right out to sea. Landfall now is looking less and less likely, but we will still have impacts even though The Carolina coast is not on the cone. You can still have impacts outside of the cone.

One of those is rainfall. Flood watches will probably go up and there'll be some flash flooding. Winds may gust to Hurricane Force, 74 miles an hour. This is all going to be ironed out in the coming days. Fox Weather's Mike Seidel reporting from Folly Beach, South Carolina. The National Hurricane Center has issued a tropical storm watch for the east coast of Florida.

186.552 - 205.031

The cleanup is getting started in Arizona after flash floods Friday that left at least four people dead. Remarkable to see all the damage out here. But the one good thing I want to say, obviously, it's a lot of damage. People have been hurt. We've seen cars swept away in washes. But the good thing we've seen out here is really the community coming together.

205.311 - 222.587

We talked to people who said they're all banding together to clean up their neighbors' homes, to help local businesses that have been affected. We've seen rescue teams. We've seen trained dogs out here trying to find anyone who might need help. Unfortunately, in case they're looking for any bodies, too, is what we've heard from them as well.

222.607 - 242.713

Fox 10 Phoenix's Irene Snyder, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has authorized the Arizona National Guard to deal with the disaster. Meanwhile, Humberto has become the second Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic so far this season. It could be a threat to Bermuda Tuesday or Wednesday, but is unlikely to be a direct hit on the U.S.

243.52 - 253.328
