Chapter 1: What was the outcome of the assassination attempt on Trump?
This is a Fox News alert. A would-be assassin is sentenced on Lisa Brady. Ryan Ruth was convicted last year in the second Trump assassination attempt on a Florida golf course in 2024. Just sentenced to life in prison.
He represented himself at trial and tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen in court when he was found guilty. Prosecutors say Ruth spent weeks planning the assassination attempt, aiming a rifle through shrubbery. A Secret Service agent spotted Ruth before Trump came into view. The agent fired shots. Ruth ran and was caught.
His scheduled sentencing in December was delayed when he decided to use an attorney for the sentencing phase.
Fox's Chris Foster. The defense was asking for 27 years, noting Ruth is about to turn 60. In addition to the life sentence, the judge added seven years for a gun conviction. Earlier today, the man accused of shooting two West Virginia National Guard members in D.C., killing one the day before Thanksgiving, pleading not guilty. He's charged with multiple counts, including first-degree murder.
The top Democrats in Congress say a proposal for ICE reforms will be ready soon and that dramatic change is needed. When Americans see the pictures of these goons beating people, pushing people, and even shooting and killing people... They say this is not America. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says they're ready to negotiate with Republicans.
They have nine days left before short-term Homeland Security funding runs out, though longer-term funding for ICE was already passed last year. Borders are. Tom Holman says federal agents will keep enforcing laws and that the rhetoric and violence against them has to stop. But he also says there's more cooperation now in Minnesota.
We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now. and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets. Unprecedented cooperation.
Holman says because of that, not as many federal agents are needed there, and 700 are being pulled out of Minnesota. America is listening to Fox News.
