Florida pauses an effort to label a Muslim advocacy group as a terrorist organization.
The new Florida law would allow the state to label the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CARE, a terror group. Earlier in July, Governor Ron DeSantis said what it would mean if a local government supporting CARE got state money. They will lose that state funding. If you have a school that's in league with CARE, they will become ineligible for those scholarship funds. Hiba Rahim, who leads CARE in Florida, argued her group and other organizations have the right to challenge the government.
