Iran has been firing at its neighbors for the first time in this round of fighting. Hostile aircraft have entered Jordanian airspace. The Jordanians say they shot down some eight missiles. U.S. Embassy staff there was ordered to shelter in place. No injuries. The U.S. hit multiple targets, including bridges on rail lines that the U.S. says were used by Iran to transport weapons. Those were hit. U.S. Central Command says some 90 different targets were taken out in Iran last night.
How did Iran and regional allies respond to the recent U.S. strikes and what were the reported impacts?
Eighty were hit the night before. Now, Iranian state media reported explosions in southern port cities, explosions in Bashir, home to that massive nuclear power plant complex. The U.S. says the targets were on the coast. The power plant was not hit.
President Trump now says he doesn't know if the U.S. will be able to reach a deal with Iran. An edited video interview with the former roommate and romantic partner of the man accused of murdering Charlie Kirk last September was played for a judge in Utah Thursday. This is part of the suspect's preliminary hearing.
In the partially redacted video, Lance Twiggs says he and Tyler Robinson were in the same friend group and became roommates before dating. Twiggs said before the shooting, Robinson had told him he wanted to engrave bullets for a hunting trip and borrowed a tool from Twiggs in order to do that.
But Twiggs testified that after the shooting, I just asked him in person what he said was true the night before. And he said it was. I started crying a little bit and said he wishes he hadn't done it.
