Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Law enforcement at odds. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. Federal and local officials sparring over the analysis of evidence in the case of the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Fox's Jonathan Hunt.
The apparent disagreement between the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department over the handling of evidence is notable. The FBI naturally would consider its lab in Quantico the best in the world. The sheriff argues that he wants all evidence handled by the same lab that this department may have used in previous investigations.
Chapter 2: What is the disagreement between federal and local law enforcement in the Nancy Guthrie case?
So there are two sides to that. But even more notable in our reporting is the revelation, and it is a revelation, that a glove was found by investigators inside Nancy Guthrie's house. That is the first time. We have heard that. We do not know whose glove it is, but we do know that investigators deemed it significant enough to take away as evidence.
After a test vote, Congress has failed to agree on funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
going to be a shutdown for just the Department of Homeland Security at 12-00-01 on Saturday morning. That test vote needed 60 yeas. There were 52 yeses on this. John Fetterman, the Democrat from Pennsylvania, was the only Democratic yes. And John Thune, the Republican leader in the Senate, he switched his vote to no. That gives him the ability to recall this if they were to get a deal.
Just after that test vote went down, you had Katie Britt, the Republican senator from Alabama, come to the floor and try to get what they call unanimous consent, where they agree on the spot, all 100 senators, for a two-week interim spending bill for DHS. And that was objected to by Chris Murphy, the Democrat from Connecticut.
So this means that there's about 61,000 TSA employees who would not be paid during this shutdown.
