Rescued in time. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. The Nevada County Sheriff's Office says six backcountry skiers just north of Lake Tahoe and Castle Peak who survived an avalanche have been rescued. Took a team of more than 70 rescue personnel several hours to reach them. and transport them to safety, plus a desperate search effort still underway to try to find 10 skiers still missing.
This happened at an elevation of 8,200 feet near Frog Lake. Nevada County Sheriff Russell Green discussed the difficult effort.
