Chapter 1: What is the current status of the government shutdown?
A presidential push to end the shutdown. I'm Lisa Brady, Fox News. President Trump just posting a pledge to work together in good faith to address the issues that have been raised. But he says another long government shutdown would be pointless and destructive.
Right now, there's a partial shutdown while the House considers a Senate deal to fund most of the government through September, but only short-term funding for homeland security as Democrats demand changes in immigration enforcement operations.
Originally, the thought here on the Hill was that this was just going to be a quick weekend partial government shutdown that could wrap up at some point today. But that is not going to be the case. It is likely that this is going to go through at least some point tomorrow.
Chapter 2: Who is Nancy Guthrie and what are the latest updates on her search?
Now, the reason why is because House Democrats say they will not help House Republicans use an expedited process to have a vote today on passing this package of government spending bills that were passed by the Senate last week.
Fox's Bill Malusian on the Hill. Some House Republicans also pushing back on the Senate deal after the House sent a six-bill package to the Senate that would have avoided the shutdown. Day two of the search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie.
Nancy Guthrie, last seen Saturday night around 9.30. The family drops her off at the house. First reported missing the next morning when she didn't show up in church. So the family goes over to the house. They didn't see her. They check the backyard. Neighbors, they call 911.
Fox's William Lajeunesse, the Pima County Sheriff now says the Arizona home is a crime scene and that Nancy Guthrie, who has limited mobility, did not leave on her own.
The home is in northeast Tucson in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. There's no sidewalks. Streets are very hilly. House about 3,000 square feet. It's worth about a million bucks. It's not atypical of the neighborhood in any way. So if you're a burglar or a thief, there's no reason to choose this house over another unless you have a reason.
Sheriff says they don't know yet if this is a targeted crime. February, off to a good start on Wall Street. The Dow up 515 at the bell. America is listening to Fox News.
