Chapter 1: What executive order did President Trump sign regarding voter ID?
An order that would create a national voter list. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News. President Trump signing the executive order about 90 minutes ago.
The only people that don't want to do voter ID are people that cheat. There's no other reason for it.
The order calls for the Department of Homeland Security working with the Social Security Administration to make a list of eligible voters in each state and seeks to prevent the Postal Service from sending absentee ballots to people not on each state's approved list. The president also wants the ballots to have secure envelopes with barcodes for tracking.
Oregon and Arizona have already pledged legal challenges to the order. On Iran, the president said the U.S. mission will be done in two to three weeks and said securing the Strait of Hormuz is not up to us.
What happens to the Strait, we're not going to have anything to do with because these countries, China, China will go up and they'll fuel up their beautiful ships and they'll leave and they'll take care of themselves. There's no reason for us to do it.
The president saying he's spoken to a lot of people in Iran recently and they're more accessible, adding Iran doesn't have to make a deal now. A federal judge says the University of Pennsylvania has to turn over its records on Jewish employees as part of an anti-Semitism investigation.
The EEOC filed suit to have a subpoena enforced to aid its investigation into illegal employment practices they say led to anti-Semitic harassment on campus. Judge Papert upheld most of the subpoena's provisions, but said the Ivy League school is not required to say if a worker is with a Jewish organization or give details about those groups.
The judge also said employees can decline to cooperate with the federal investigation.
Fox's Colonel Scott Penn has until May 1st to comply with the federal subpoena. A different federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to suspend construction of the new ballroom at the White House. America's listening to Fox News.
