Kentucky's governor demanding that Senator Mitch McConnell either speak directly to the people of his state or resign.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has written to Republican Senator Mitch McConnell emphasizing that it's been more than six weeks since McConnell was hospitalized. In his letter, Beshear, a Democrat, demanded that McConnell, quote, provide proof of your capacity to serve or resign. He is also asking Senate Majority Leader John Thune to investigate McConnell's condition and determine whether a Senate vacancy is warranted. McConnell's office released a new photo of him with his wife, which his team says was taken on Sunday.
