Lawyers in the DOJ's Civil Rights Division were reportedly told in the days following the deadly shooting of Rene Good in Minneapolis they would not be part of any investigation. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch confirmed that in a statement saying there is no basis for it. Federal officials have said they believe the ICE agent was defending himself against the Domestic Terrorism Act. The FBI is looking into the actions leading up to Good's death, but the lack of any look into civil rights violations is different from what past administrations have done when civilians are shot by law enforcement. 39-year-old Matthew D'Angelo pleaded not guilty to child sex crimes, including intercourse with a child under 10, sexual assault of a minor, and child cruelty. The Navy confirms D'Angelo was an aviation electronics technician assigned to Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado. A neighbor told Fox 5 after speaking to media during a raid on D'Angelo's home, victims began reaching out to her, including a woman who said she was D'Angelo's second wife, that she tried to warn multiple agencies about him, but felt survivor's guilt for being unable to stop him.
