He's considering a defense motion on whether to replace the prosecution team because a college-age child of one of the prosecutors was on the campus of Utah Valley University the day of the shooting. The Department of Education holding off on garnishing wages of student loan borrowers.
A statement from the department says the temporary delay gives time to provide additional opportunity for borrowers to make repayments using reforms included in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Last month, the administration announced it would restart wage garnishments this month, and initial notices were sent to 1,000 borrowers last week.
