What happened during the attack on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar?
This is a Fox News alert, an attack on a member of Congress. I'm Lisa Lucera. Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar approached by a man during a town hall a short time ago when she was talking about the ICE raids in the state. PHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or face impeachment. The man sprayed an unknown substance on Omar. He was taken to the ground.
Congresswoman Omar was able to continue speaking, saying she remained resilient to whatever is thrown at her. The White House didn't immediately comment. South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy May said she was deeply disturbed to learn of the attack despite their differences.
A Customs and Border Protection official has told Congress two federal officers fired shots during the encounter that led to the shooting death of Alex Freddie in Minneapolis on Saturday. The CBP account says officers tried to take Freddie into custody and he resisted, which led to a struggle. Meanwhile, President Trump says he's making some changes to immigration operations in Minneapolis.
The departure of Border Patrol agents and Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino from Minnesota is not a pullback, President Trump says. I don't think it's a pullback. It's a little bit of a change. Everybody in this room that has a business, you know, you make little changes. The president speaking to Fox's Will Kane says Bovino is very good. But he's a pretty out there kind of a guy.
And in some cases, that's good. Maybe it wasn't good here. President Trump dispatched border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota to manage immigration operations and meet with state and local officials to de-escalate.
Fox's Jared Halpern of the White House. President Trump is warning Iraq that the U.S. would no longer support the country if its former prime minister, Nouriel Maliki, returns to power. America's listening to Fox News.
