Chapter 1: What happened in Minneapolis involving ICE and a protest?
Tensions rising in Minneapolis. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News. After a woman is killed when an ICE agent opened fire during a protest this afternoon, the woman identified as Renee Good died in her SUV. Homeland Security says she was heading for the officer. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz wants federal agents out of the state.
We do not need any further help from the federal government. To Donald Trump and Kristi Noem, you've done enough.
And Walz has put the National Guard on notice, meaning they could be called up. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the shooting was justified.
An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to protect himself and the people around him.
President Trump writing on True Social that he saw video of the incident claiming the woman ran over the ICE officer and that the officer shot her in self-defense, though video shows the officer never hit the ground. And the president calling for a massive increase in military spending, setting the budget for 2027 at $1.5 trillion.
This coming days after the operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and bring him to the U.S. to face federal charges. The U.S. military has seized two Venezuelan-linked oil tankers on the North Atlantic, one in the North Atlantic.
This was a Venezuelan shadow fleet vessel that has transported sanctioned oil, and the United States of America, under this president, is not going to tolerate that.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, who says Venezuelan oil is beginning to be put up for sale, and the money from that sale will be split between the U.S. and Venezuela.

A lawsuit filed over one state book ban. Utah hit with a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union of Utah on behalf of the estate of Kurt Vonnegut and other claimed authors who argue the state's sensitive materials law is unconstitutional, claiming it's partaking in modern day book burning and trampling on First Amendment protections.
The complaint comes a day after Utah upped its tally of banned books to 22, with the addition of three works, including the one the popular musical and Wicked movies are based on. A book must be removed from all public schools in the state if at least three school districts or at least two and five charter schools determine it amounts to objective, sensitive material, as defined by Utah Code.
