Welcome to Giants Nation. I'm your host, Bobby Skinner, here with my co-host, the football grump, and we've got our Jackson Dart rookie year in review. It's been a couple years since we did one of these shows because, you know, last year the Giants didn't have a quarterback the year before.

I mean, he's obviously an integral part of this team, but I mean, like going forward, he's one of the main reasons that John Harbaugh wanted to come here. So that makes this one of the most important things and how Jackson Dark continues to develop under John Harbaugh and what they focus on is probably going to be something that we talk about all year.

How did Jaxson Dart's confidence as a passer evolve throughout the season?
I'm excited to get down to training camp and just look at him like, hey, this is QB1. This is not the developmental quarterback. This is QB1. How's he fitting the new offense? How's the new offense fitting around him? So there's going to be a lot of new. There's going to probably be some growing pains, and there's going to be some really good moments, too. So we'll go through all of it. You know, he had a good rookie season, Grump, but he just wasn't as good as Tyler Shug, who had like, you know, four touchdowns. But despite not being as good as Tyler Shug's four touchdowns, he was fourth in offensive rookie of the year voting.

Jackson Dirk is a rookie, had 12 starts, completed 63.7% of his passes, 189 yards per game, 15 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 487 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns. Um, That's pretty good, right? I mean, you know, middle of the pack as an overall passer, top of the pack as a rusher, top of the pack is total touchdowns, which is the name of the game. Obviously, we want to see him develop more as a drop back passer and play action passer and deep ball passer, which we'll talk about all that. But he played the game with confidence as a rookie.

Absolutely. And I think one of the most impressive parts about this statistically, and not just like the eye test and what we see statistically, it's a touchdown to interception ratio for me that I think is the most impressive. Um, he's, There's definitely going to be some things that we're going to talk about with turnover-worthy plays that he has to deal with. But overall, we're not looking at somebody who needs to clean up a ton of catastrophically fatal flaws. There's tons to clean up, but it really is truly cleanup. It's not reformatting a whole bunch of different stuff with him. So I thought that he played very confident as a rookie. I thought that he jumped right in there.
