How are you guys doing? We are well. Just parsing through all the news from yesterday. The big one, obviously, here. The Vancouver Canucks have removed head coach Adam Foote and all of his staff after one year on the job. What do you got for us, Frank, about the exodus who might be coming in? What do you got on the Vancouver Canucks coaching front?
Well, look, all signs point to Manny Malhotra being the top candidate. There's no doubt about that. And Ryan Johnson didn't really shade from that idea. He didn't try and steer us off of it. He mentioned Manny as the internal candidate that they obviously have to take seriously. My question is, did something precipitate this? Haven't been able to get to that answer yet. Um, did someone else did the Toronto Maple Leafs, for instance, ask for permission to speak to Manny Melhotra, which then pressed them to say, well, Hey, we've got a decision to make here.
What challenges does the Minnesota Wild face in the upcoming offseason?
Either we're letting him walk and go explore this opportunity, or we're going to step up and make sure that we keep him. Uh, that is one question. Uh, but one statement that I think that was really important that was made yesterday without saying anything. There's been lots of questions about how the Vancouver Canucks will approach this rebuild from a resources perspective. That was a really positive sign because there was lots of talk about, Hey, they're not spending a ton on this general manager. There's another team. I mentioned Nashville. That's not projected to spend a lot either. Are we seeing this sort of landscape change right in front of this?
Are the Canucks doing this on the cheap? The first answer we have just a few days in is no, that's not the plan.
I mean, I just wonder if this was the plan all along. And when they talked about this with the Sedins and Ryan Johnson, Ryan Johnson maybe said, listen, I want Manny as the head coach and I want this to happen. I mean, they work together.

They've worked together for years with Manny doing the job as head coach in Abbotsford and Ryan Johnson being the general manager in Abbotsford. It always seemed like it was going to go in this direction. Do you think there's anything to that?
Well, I think there's definitely something to the inevitability, but my question would be, does now make sense is now really the right time because let's face it, there's years and years of pain to come for this Vancouver Canucks team. And so do you want Manny Malhotra, who you believe in and you think is a quality coach to bear the brunt of that, have a record be pounded. And then all of a sudden, when you actually get this team to where you want it to be roster-wise, then what? How many coaches actually survive from the rebuild to the other side?
