How do Lucy and Nikki introduce the group chat etiquette topic and set the tone?

Lucy Jackson 0:02
a listener production. This is Happy Hour with Lucy and Nikki. And if you're easily offended, then this might not be for you. And they're conspiring in a side private conversation and have decided they don't want to have a white theme because it's too aligned with Diddy's fucking freak-offs. And I was like, who is making this association? You fucking weird cunts.
Nikki Westcott 0:39
Cheers, babes. I'm going to happy hour with Lucy and Nikki, the real life shit you only discuss over a drink. But before we start, a little disclaimer.
Lucy Jackson 0:45
So today we are here to talk about group chats.
Nikki Westcott 0:48
And so the disclaimer is if you are in any of our group chats, just take this with a grain of salt because we probably get a bit passionate at times.
Lucy Jackson 0:55
If you've ever attended one of my birthday parties, you're probably getting rinsed in this episode.
Ah.
Lucy Jackson 1:01
We love you all. Yes, it's actually a really fun ep. And it just actually, it's a thing in life, isn't it? Being in like organizing group things and stuff.
Nikki Westcott 1:12
It's a real challenge. Everyone can relate to this too. I feel like group chat etiquette is pretty much the same shit across the board, I think.
Lucy Jackson 1:19
Yeah, for sure.
Nikki Westcott 1:20
Everyone can kind of, will be able to pull stuff out of this and be like, fuck, so true.
Lucy Jackson 1:24
Do you know what I think I've realized my joie de vivre, no, my energy towards like a plan is? I've just like come to think of it. So say, for example, like I've got some plans in Melbourne that I've got to do this weekend. And like, granted, they don't like exactly work for me in terms of like in an ideal world, instead of it being spread out over X amount of hours, it'd probably be condensed a little bit more. But because I'm not the person making the plan, unless I genuinely have something like that I have to be at, something different that I have to be at, I won't like sit there and be like, well, it would be more convenient for me if we started at two instead of three. I just go, yeah, no worries.
Nikki Westcott 2:05
Yeah. Do you know what I mean? But you could step up, like speak up and simplify your life.
Lucy Jackson 2:10
I know, but then, you know, like, you know how some of our friends would be like, you know, I've got one of my friends, Flick, who I love you so much, Flick, so no shade. But she will have no issue in being like, I would prefer if we'd started at six instead of seven.
Nikki Westcott 2:25
Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Oh, she's next level. Yeah. But she's so type A and organized. Like, sometimes I'm like, what right do you have, Nikki, to try and change your time? Do you know what I did overnight, babe? Went to get in my car this morning to go to the gym, fucking left my car door open all night. Man, I am like. Like baby brain. You are. Oh, babe. Getting dumb. Don't you say a word to me until you have a fucking pushed a child out of your vagina, all right? No. Because I am working. I am being a mum. I'm trying to get my steps in. True. And I'm travelling and it's happening all at once. But you need to stop losing things. Well, I didn't lose it.
Lucy Jackson 2:59
You lost your keys last week and had to pay heaps of money to get a new one. $700.
Nikki Westcott 3:03
You lost your phone the other week. Found it, though, four days later on the roof.
Lucy Jackson 3:07
You did, but I think the thing is... No, I lose so much stuff. But I think with, like, say, for example, your keys, and, like, I... I have ADHD, so I'm with you on the journey. Oh, it's hard. But when I register problems of mine, I get determined on solutions.
Nikki Westcott 3:21
See, my thing is, to be honest... Get a key ring on that key. I don't even have... But, like, we're swapping cars. We're swapping cars. It doesn't mean... So, you can't buy a key ring? No, I can do... Do you know what I got? With the new set of keys, I got a fucking engraved thing. If lost, please return to this phone number. Good girl. I know. And... I reckon you should put an air tag on your keys. Yeah, Ollie did say that. I think you should. He's been so gentle to me in this time. Like, because I've been like, oh, my God. Like, even when I saw the car door this morning, I was like, oh, my fucking God. And I was like, oh, babe, just make sure there's nothing, like, in the car.
