There are issues that, if they are issues, we'll definitely address internally amongst the players. You know, I saw some things about vaping in the gym. I can tell you now that no one's vaped in the gym. That's actually fabricated or misinformation. Is there a vaping problem? Probably with players, but like with young men, you can't tell them whether they vape or smoke or whatnot. And I definitely can't control what they do 24-7. It's all couches full, mate. Yeah, so... I don't feel like there's a culture problem. We're talking about standards and that. There's probably a few things we might have walked past recently that we need to address.
Did Adam leave at the end of the year? Has there been any talk in that regard?
No, actually quite the opposite. Speaking with Adam, and he can talk for himself, but he reaffirmed to me his position around he's here for me and for the club for the long term and he's all in. And he's focused on playing this week, you know, and it was reassuring to hear that from him. Yeah. Benji, was there any awkwardness in your conversation with Adam when he did come back in to try and patch things up? Zero awkwardness. Quite the opposite, actually. Like, and again, like, when you come from a place of love and you have respect for each other and you both want the same thing. Fuck, he loves Adam. Actually, when it all happened, I wanted... Adam to play. And I kept trying to get to him to make him play.
But when you're in a headspace that you don't feel like you can, it's hard to get to that point. But I was prepared to do everything possible to have him play. And I didn't want it to get to this because no one wants him to leave the club.

No, I didn't feel disrespected. What I could see was a young guy who was emotionally hurting and needed support and wasn't in a headspace to play, which was quite obvious to me. So I think... coaching's not just about black and white and what you believe is the best thing and the right thing it's actually like dealing with human beings and people and I think that's the element that gets lost here is that Adam's a young man I'm a person we all have feelings and emotions and we're in a sport that everything gets played out so publicly everyone expects us to all react the same it's not like that everyone's different and I saw a guy who was hurting from it and he just didn't have the ability to get himself in a position to play so you can't force that
