Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is an Irish Independent Podcast.
Welcome, everyone. Bits and Bobs on a Monday. We've a lot to get through. Happy to say Will Slattery is here in studio. Will, hello. Hi, Joe. How are you? Very well. Conor McKeown is back from Dr. Hyde Park. Hello, Conor. Hi, Joe. You can send your emails in as plenty of people have done to indosportpodcast at independent.ie. We've a lot to get through. Premier League, VAR.
We have Scottish Premiership drama. We have booze at Anfield. We have the GAA. We have... Marcus Rashford speaking with a Spanish accent. It's all there. URC, another Six Nations home win for Ireland with Scotland to come. 26,000 coming to the Aviva on Saturday. Ronnie O'Sullivan is your world senior snooker champion as well. He beat Joe Perry.
Chapter 2: What controversial VAR decisions affected the Arsenal vs. West Ham match?
So it's all happening.
It was a much busier weekend than it looked like on Friday. I think you gave it the kiss of death or the kiss of life, actually, when you said on Friday's Bits and Bobs, you know, going through the weekend. It was quieter than previous weekends.
Chapter 3: What were the standout moments from the Scottish Premiership this week?
I feel like there's a lot to get through today.
It was more alive than I thought it was going to be, I have to say. Let's do that every Friday from now on. Yeah. Do you want emails or we just get into it? Emails, please. You get a vote too.
Oh no, I'm always for emails. I like to... Just to warm up?
Yeah, yeah. Come on, it's a Monday morning. Let's not go straight into work. I only got back from Killarney late last night from the Munster Football Finals. What's the drive back from Killarney for? Oh yeah, it's about four. When you stop at McDonald's for chicken slacks and it takes 25 minutes for them to give them to you, it takes a little longer, but... You know, I got home in the end.
Okay. A few people had thoughts on me buying a robot lawnmower.
Do you know what? I listened to this on the way down on Friday. I'm sorry. I was just like, have I been sent some sort of outtake of this? Like this is the stuff that we can't possibly publish. No, that was our lead. Can I ask a question before you read the email?
Please, haven't opened it yet. why are you using it at night? That's one thing I didn't understand when John Green was like so passive aggressive. Like, is it not during a daytime thing? Because using it at night would be very rude to your neighbours.
I feel like people tend to program it for nighttime in case maybe they've kids out in the garden. you know, let it sleep in the corner. Just like... Like during like three o'clock in the morning. It's like white noise. It's just like... It's battery. Like there's no engine. Okay. Yeah. I don't think it's loud.
Okay.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of the VAR controversy for Arsenal's title chances?
It was absolutely spectacular.
This was Celtic beating Rangers 3-1. Coming from behind, by the way. Dijon Maida.
Yeah.
Sorry, I'm not watching enough Celtic. My apologies.
Yeah.
Overhead kick. I did see it. And there's lots of great angles, like a pitch level and the crowd go nuts. And it's amazing. So that's six wins in a row for Martin O'Neill and Celtic. Hearts only drew one all the way to Motherwell, which means with midweek fixtures to come, Celtic are just a point behind. Hearts are on top.
Celtic-Hearts, last day of the season at Celtic Park, Saturday, half past 12. So, oh, I just, I hope they sort of both win. or it's very live going to the Saturday Celtic away to Motherwell Hearts at home to Falkirk but this would be Celtic's 14th Premiership crown in the last 15 seasons and I guess does Wilfred Nancy get a winner's medal?
Has there ever been usually 10 games isn't it? Any league winners in the history of European football that have had anywhere near as bad a spell in their league winning season as Celtic had under Williford.
It would be one of the strangest league winning campaigns of all time. Again, I just hope they've had the good sense to make a documentary behind the scenes about this. You know, this would be iconic if Martin O'Neill does this.
