G'day, welcome to Kenty Bliss, your daily head of NRL News. And uh Kenty, a couple of reminders at the top here. Don't forget to subscribe. Uh obviously, uh Kenty and myself pride ourselves on providing independent views uh of Australian sporting culture. So we need you to subscribe. Makes a difference to our partners and our future partners if there's anybody out there who wants to get involved. Uh also a couple of quick shout-outs. There's a new episode of Sim. Been uh out with uh Roger Fabry, former uh convicted criminal now, famous sprint coach. Uh he sits down with Johnny and uh they talk about the transition uh that has taken place in his life. And also just want to have a quick shout out to the new English Premier League show, which uh we've got on the channel with the great Robbie Slater from New York Sports Days and Adam Peacock.
Uh Good man, Robbie. If you like your EPL, he's a former champion actually. Who's your EP L team? Kenty? Uh well it was always Chelsea, but I I I will say I was pretty taken with Liverpool last year when we did that tour of the of the stadium and I just love the narrative beyond I I don't ha I'm not passionate about any of them. I I just go and watch Millwall play play back when I lived there. I can see you being on the But uh but uh I look to me sport i the the best sport is is the story in the sport. Uh and Liverpool's history is phenomenal. It it is just and just the whole uh Anfield experience is is something pretty special. We went to also into Manchester Chan uh Manchester City while we're over there, Kenny.
I remember you sitting in the uh corporate box there enjoying the delicacies of Yeah, it was like a water on a princess. A uh a bit of other news, Dolly Parton passed away. Yeah, it's pretty sad, isn't it? Obviously, um Yeah what I I I really I'm really taken today by the overwhelming love for her. Mm. She was a woman, she she had the ability to take the Mickey out of herself. Uh and I think that just endeared her to people. And she had if she had her ego, she had it well under control. And uh just she th I'm always suspicious of people when they say, Mate, doesn't have an enemy in the world. Yeah, if you don't have an enemy in the world you probably don't have the strength to to have a true friend either.
Uh But she just seems to be one of those people that she just was as gorgeous as where Linda Beliche is. So it's a really sad day actually. Candy, let's start off uh news north of the border with drama out of the Broncos. What is doing there? What is What is going on at the Broncos? Yeah, look they're talking about narratives. They've lost control of the narrative here. The Broncos, they they just can't help themselves was. Uh and it's in a week where they should be the last club spoken about, essentially. They're out of the finals pitcher. The only thing of interest in r in rugby league terms about the Broncos this week, uh really is the fact that they're playing in this game against Melbourne where they're gonna trial the the uh
The kick off option. Mm. That's the only thing that that's the only reason they should be in the news this week. But the Broncos have been the Broncos. And look, I've defended uh Michael McGuire all season, uh, and I think he's a very good coach and I think he's done a great job up there. But I tell you something just uh there's a there's just something going on there that's not right. The way this has unfolded, their their mismanagement of it, the fact that Adam Reynolds's backflip from Monday when he said he was disappointed that he was not going to get a farewell game, that he thought he was okay, he thought he'd be able to be able to go out and play some minutes, uh, to then the next day saying, Oh, hang on a second, now I was my decision.
I told the club, uh, which was in the face of everything. And I saw Dave Ricchio uh on 360 say, uh, and and I thought it was a really prudent point. He said You can lie to the fans which they have done, said but you can't lie to the players. And we saw the evidence of that this morning when it came out that Roos Walsh had liked a post that was critical of the Broncos for standing him down this this weekend and not not allowing him a farewell home game.
