Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

So it's good.

Chapter 3: What are the highlights of the Derby broadcast?
That's good.
So it's already ready to go then. Yeah.
A lot of people don't know that about babies. You give them like four weeks of care. And they're good to go. And then they're good. Send them on their way. I didn't know that. It's AI. If only it were really that easy. That's how it works. So it would be good. Now that his child's fine, he's going to come back. We missed Drew. Yes, we did. May the fourth be with you, by the way. Yeah.
So there's a salesperson here, Shannon, named Brandon. It's his birthday. Oh, God. So he's got all this birthday stuff. And so I walked in. I'm like, happy birthday. And he goes, this is the best birthday you could have. And I said, oh. because it's your birthday, right? Like, why is it your best birthday? And he goes, because it's also Star Wars Day. And then I was like, what?
Chapter 4: What unique moments occurred during the Derby?
And I go, oh yeah, May the 4th. May the 4th be with you.
This is the guy you got the Pokemon cards for, right?
Yeah, this is the guy who bought a pair of shoes and it came with a free Pokemon card. And I gave him the Pokemon card and no one's ever been happier. Like, I've never given a gift that got a better reaction than giving Brandon that Pokemon card.
It's like Christmas morning for dorks and nerds.
Yeah, so if you're a nerd and you're born on May the 4th, big day. I think that, Shannon, means you're like super nerd. Yeah, you're destined to be a super nerd.
Yeah, exactly.
It's like a superhero. So congrats to Brandon, who I'm sure is excited about being talked about this morning.
Yeah.
So this was Derby Weekend, Ryan.

Chapter 5: How did the Derby impact the hosts' views on sports broadcasting?
They really do. It's actually a perfect, like if you were to create in a lab, what is the perfect television event? I think you would create the Derby. Shannon, think about it. The actual, the race itself, really short. So everyone can follow it. Two minutes. Two minutes. That's all you got to give us, right?
The lead-up, there's stuff for men, there's stuff for women, there's stuff for people who like sports, there's stuff for people who like human interest stories, there's drama, there are siblings. You know, I mean, I just think, Shannon, whatever it is you would like in a television broadcast, I'm not sure the Derby, it looks great visually.
It's like perfect. Yeah, the build-up for it, I think, is really the biggest thing for a lot of people. Of course, Derby parties and you have all the other races before the Derby itself are
but it's it's it's a whole it's great yes and if you're a sports person you got all the races leading up to it that you can get into so let's go over a few things about the uh about the thing i'll tell you about my oaks experience a minute but let's talk about the derby first of all you get out to the derby it's time to start and the the big i didn't realize there was a horse it was like four times fatter than all the horses big white
That's why they call him Big White.
He's a big horse.
I didn't realize that you could have, Shannon, a big fat horse in the race. But there was a big fat horse. Am I Great White or is Big White a different horse? I don't know.
No, Great White.
Whatever the horse was, it flipped over. Great White, yes. Yes. And you would think it would be the fattest horse. It wouldn't flip over. Yeah.

Chapter 6: What are the hosts' thoughts on the future of UK basketball?
So whatever they had to pay to get in, I think that would be miserable. You're right at the gate. That jockey could have gotten a huge payoff to win that derby. I know, and all he did was get a big fat horse to fall on him, right?
It was scary. Yeah, the horse fell over backwards. It was scary.
But he ended up completely fine. He was fine. All right, so race starts. Obviously, I had further ado, and as they came for home, it looked like it was winning. Yeah. And so you're like, oh, okay, well, I'm going to win. And then it doesn't. Great tempo comes from ā Golden tempo. Golden tempo. We're on fire with these names. I know. All these names are good. Golden tempo comes from behind.
It was awesome. You know, the horse that came in third was 70 to 1.
Yeah.
So they completely flipped around. Yeah. Then you get the fact that you realize, okay, first female trainer. Right. I mean, there you go. History. History.

Chapter 7: What challenges does the UK basketball team face this upcoming season?
What a story. It's history. And the videos of her jumping up and down. Very special. That's great. Again, back to how it's perfect television. You don't even have to care about anything. Sorry. You don't have to care about anything to... Just go, this is awesome. I'm watching history here, right? You don't have to be a horse racing fan.
You don't have to know anything about horse racing to appreciate some of those moments. And to see her jumping up and down like that, like a little girl at Christmas time, was very, very special. It wasn't just history, Shannon. It was her-story. Her-story. It's her story. The dunks. Right? Yeah. I'm just showing you I'm being a feminist here. It was this awesome moment. And then the brothers.
Yes, the brothers.
First and second.
Embraced after they crossed the finish line. They crossed the finish line and then they hold hands. How hard is that? On a horse.

Chapter 8: What are the fans' expectations for the UK basketball program?
Those horses are galloping, Shannon, and they're holding hands. Yeah, yeah. That's pretty amazing. It was pretty amazing. You couldn't help but pull your heartstrings for those two stories right there. The two brothers and the female trainer was out. That's what makes the Kentucky Derby so special. You get these moments. Perfect television. Everybody likes the first woman and then two brothers.
Yeah. And he starts crying. And everyone, you know, when something good happens at the Derby, everybody's always crying, right? Yeah. The trainer's thinking of her mentor who got her to do it. She cries. Jose Ortiz is thinking of his grandfather who taught him to race horses. He just died. He cries. So you get all that. And it's so awesome. And then this huge payday if people got it.
Didn't any of you get that horse? I mean, I did.
No.
I had it in some of my tries, but not on top. I never put it on first. So I put it on second and third. But I wouldn't have had the 70 to 1 horse anyway. So I think... which is not destined to be. Like you said, you don't have to even know anything about horse racing, but when they had that overhead view of the trip that that horse took to get to the finish line. From last to first. Unbelievable.
Navigating that traffic.
Going way on the outside.
Yes.
Took the longest route, but that horse had a rocket strapped to it. I mean, it was unbelievable. It was flying.
