What is the purpose of this episode and who is the host?
Welcome to Lessons in Overthinking and Obsessing. I'm Carly Ann. I'm a therapist supporting overthinkers to get out of their heads and live a happier, more grounded life. In the last episode of the podcast, the I spoke to those of you who are feeling ignored right now. And if that's you and you've not listened to the most recent episode, I highly recommend you going back and listening to the episode because it helps explain why being ignored is hurting so much and how you can stay true to yourself when it's happening. Now, as promised, this episode is for you to just receive something a bit softer. to help you to redirect your attention, to remember some truths. These affirmations you can listen to while you're walking, resting, getting ready for your day, or just needing something to steady your thoughts.
You don't need to overthink them or get them perfect.
Why does feeling ignored hurt and how can I start to heal?
Just let them land in the background. Take what resonates and let the rest pass you by. I can stay calm even when I don't have a response yet. Not every silence means something negative. I can choose peace over overthinking. I trust that things don't always need an immediate answer or meaning. I am and can be okay in uncertainty. I don't need instant connection to feel secure within myself. I am secure within myself. I can let people come back to me in their own time.
How can I use simple affirmations to stay calm during silence?
I am still connected to myself even in quiet moments. I can hold space without filling it with assumptions.
I am safe to pause and slow down and observe my thoughts. This moment can be neutral instead of me turning it into a story. I do not react to every gap in communication. I know and I trust that connection isn't always linear. I am worthy and I have value whether I'm being responded to or not. I can and do feel grounded even without reassurance. I can allow for people to have their own timing and still feel secure. I trust myself.
What self‑trust statements help me feel secure without external validation?
I trust the relationships that I do have and the connections that are there. I can return to the present instead of losing myself in the what ifs. I can trust myself to handle whatever this is. I am worthy of good, strong, healthy connection. I am worthy in moments of silence and I am focusing on what is steady in my life right now. I invite in abundance and healthy relationships. I choose not to spiral into assumptions and stories. I am open and trusting. I am letting things unfold without over controlling them.
How do I invite healthy relationships and abundance while staying grounded?
I am learning to feel secure within myself. I meet this moment with peace and understanding instead of urgency. I am able to understand the parts of me that are struggling right now. I am okay. And things will work out in their own time. Even when it feels difficult. I can lean into self love. My vision, my goals. I trust that the relationships in my life are unfolding and working out perfectly for me.
