Yes, welcome on in to Locked On Auburn, your daily Auburn Tigers podcast. I'm your host, Zach Blackerby, and thank you so much for making Locked On Auburn your first listen every single day. Daryl Daprich, Montgomery Radio legend, hanging out with us. We'll discuss Cody Sigler's impact. He made his announcement yesterday. I think it could be a pretty solid pickup for the Auburn Tigers. But look, a lot of reports of guys visiting and guys who have visited, and it sounds like discussions are getting close for several key guys. I think, let's start, Daryl, with probably the guy, the name that most Auburn fans... will recognize up to this point, and that's Keyshawn Singleton. As Auburn fans are watching, Byron Brown highlights a lot of his throws.
Artie Keyshawn Singleton led USF in receiving last year, dynamic playmaker and electric playmaker, a guy that could compete for the number one wide receiver spot here at Auburn, regardless of if other guys come in. We'll talk about another receiver that could compete with him in a second. But some reports, some rumblings that he was here... Recently, if it's going to pop there, I expect it to pop soon.
He is one of the guys that I thought was going to go really, really early. You heard his name constantly. You heard him linked with Byron Brown. He's a special receiver. He led the team. He was South Florida's best receiver. So this is a guy that immediately upgrades your receiver room and becomes that dude. Speed. really good hands, reliable. Brown and him have a great rapport. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. So I don't know. It's not like I think he's out there taking a bunch of visits either. As you mentioned, he was in Auburn, rumored to be reported to be in Auburn. And it feels elsewhere that he reported, right? Correct, correct. And so that's why I don't know what – The way it is, whether they want to kind of string these things out, they want their own special announcement, their own spotlight.
But this is a must-have, in my opinion, Zach. It really is. He is somebody that as soon as Golish was hired, for me, when I looked at the roster and who you could raid, it was Brown and Singleton. And... Brown's on board. Singleton could be very, very quickly to follow. And that's a really, really good get. Again, he instantly becomes the best receiver in the wide receiver room for all.
Yeah, I would have put Koger in that conversation as well. Very high on Koger. And obviously, that was the one-two punch in the receiving game for USF. So you know they complement each other. Chaz Nimrod was a piece of it. Christian Neptune was a slot guy. Jonathan Echols was a tight end who was on the field a good bit, but you know, not as much of an impact as those guys, but still like, you know, those guys compliment each other, you know, the relationship wise that they're, they're going to be a fit, but yeah, yeah, you're right. So I expect, I expect, I said this yesterday, Daryl, I expect another wave of commits, not just for Auburn, but across college football this weekend with, with guys visiting coming in yesterday, there's reported guys coming in today that we'll talk about.
But all in all, I think we're going to see that wave. Could Keyshawn Singleton be kind of the headliner of that second wave if it were to happen this weekend?
Yes, he would be. Well, think about this, too. What's happening Saturday at Auburn as far as an athletic event? They play basketball that night. Probably a good time to roll him out like they did Byron Brown, wouldn't it be? That'd be pretty cool.
