the hype this week? We can bring the hype. No tempering. We can bring the hype. No tempering. Early access was awesome. Pre-release was awesome. EJ, Empower Jace is awesome. I am very excited. We are finally getting, at the end of Q3, now that I've got a big J-O-B job, at the end of Q3, we're finally getting a banger format on our hands.

Did I make all my milestones? Did I get all my benchmarks hit? Yeah, this set is really sweet. So during early access, you, I think, were playing and watching my stream. And at one point, I was like, I'm 6-0 with this middling black-white deck. And you were like, are you really 6-0? I feel like I've watched you be in losing spots so hard. And I think that is a testament to how good this format is, because like, yes, the cards are sweet. The draft is sweet. The gameplay is extraordinarily complex, I think.
Yeah, it's a high synergy, high power, high complexity format. It is everything I want from Magic the Gathering format. It is a great new mechanic. in Empower Jace that affects how the game plays. There's extremely well-designed cards in the ways of X, way of the Pyromancer, way of the Necromancer, whatever, that really juice up Empower Jace and make it matter a lot on the battlefield. I think Empower Jace would largely feel if those way of cards were in the set, but because those way of the cards are in the set, it's so good and so important to the gameplay. And I think one of the takes I saw in the Lord's Illumina Discord was that Empower Jace doesn't really matter that much. And that was kind of how it was in sealed for me and my brother.
And I do think it is less of a player there in sealed. Certainly, if you don't get the way of cards and you don't get the support to turn them into good cards, because some of the way the cards are build arounds. But

assure you in draft and power, Jace matters. And those way of the pyromancer type cards matter a lot.
Yes. But and even if you don't have a density of them, like if you're not doing like getting up to EJ six or whatever, and the game is really based around that. The gameplay, even when you're sitting on Empower Jace one, I think is more interesting than just that surveil fired off like there's a lot more stuff to be thinking about that I'm excited to dive into today.

Though I will say I think we could have just reran the crash course. episode this week. I wasn't like, oh no, we really got XYZ or really missed the mark here. I feel like we really gave a good picture of the format. I used that to inform my decisions, but we'll certainly have some updates there.
