Chapter 1: What is the 'State of Life' Test and how does it work?
EAST ON HELSINKI EAST ON HELSINKI
And Vernon, I need the gossip on Saturday night and the party and turning 30 and how you feel.
No one told me this about turning 30, but your hangovers now last a week. Oh, yeah. That just happened. That just immediately happened. I was fine on Sunday, completely fine. I went out. I went to my parents' house. I had a great time, which was my actual birthday date, thank God. Monday, nearly called in sick. But then I knew if I called in sick, everyone would know why.
Yeah. You can't call in sick the day after your big party.
I know, I've just been pushing through this whole week and it's rough.

Chapter 2: How does turning 30 impact your life experiences?
It is rough.
That is what happens when you're 30. And then strange things will begin to ache.
Yeah. No, I've already had my knee pain. I don't want another one. Okay, yeah, you might get a bit of pain. I've already got my three grey hairs.
I don't want more. I have a couple of questions. The top you wore, where's it from?
Yes, it is from Chic. Okay. And my pants are from Ben Roy.
Okay, okay.

Chapter 3: What do we learn from the email sign-offs we should avoid?
And they stayed white.
A lot of Outlouders were concerned.
They stayed white. Thank you.
You looked gorgeous. And was the party raucous? It was really, really fun. Don't remember a single conversation I had. But I remember faces and I remember people being there and I remember eating the cake that my friend Nat made. And it was the best thing in the whole world.
One more question. Did you set up, when we were, so Outlouders may or may not know, it depends if they are subscribed to the newsletter. We shared a whole lot of like landmark birthday pictures last week. And what was really noticeable, because we shared ones from like my 40th and producers, their different days and your 21st, Claire. Cringe.

Chapter 4: What insights does Martin Short offer about self-reflection?
Questionable. Costume party. You had a costume party? It was history themed.
I was Marie Antoinette. What was really apparent was there was a moment in time where everybody started making sure they got the good portrait shot for their birthdays. Because Amelia Lester's 30th and 40th pictures were immaculate. And I was like, oh, do we need to make sure we factor that in now to big birthdays that you've got the shot?
Did you make sure you had the shot? I've got so many shots. I posted two on my Instagram. They're both kind of same except for me in like a different position because they're both as good in my eyes. No one else got posted.
No, I have feedback. Oh, thank you.
Chapter 5: How does nostalgia influence our music preferences today?
Thank you. I need you to post a highlight. Oh, an Instagram highlight? Yeah, an Instagram highlight because I flicked through and I saw photos and then when I went to revisit it in my private time, I saw there were only two photos and I was like, no, no, no, I need more.
It's hilarious because all the like 30ths and 40ths from the Gen Xs in that, when we were collecting them, have like other people in them, random people in them, no one was smiling, their eyes are red. Like we weren't good at taking pictures in those days.
I think I didn't post a single photo with anyone else besides me.
No, but I think people posted and tagged you. Yes. They can go in the highlight as well. Okay, okay, perfect, perfect.
So just different photos of me. All right, time to move on, friends. Time to move on. Here we go.

Chapter 6: What are the current trends in boy bands and man bands?
Welcome. In case you're wondering what the hell is going on here. Who are these three people talking about? This is Mamma Mia Out Loud. It is what women are actually talking about. Shit, they're not really talking about your birthday.
Oh.
They are now. Speak for yourself. Whatever.
Anyway, it's what women are actually talking about on Friday, the 22nd of May. My name is Holly Wainwright. I'm Clare Stephens. And I'm Em Burnham. And here's what's on our agenda for today.
Chapter 7: What are the top TV recommendations this week?
The best TV show ever made. Facts. Something, something about murders from Clare and a smutty book series to fill that heated rivalry gap. Yes, that's this week's recommendations.
Oh, my God. I know you're just going to take over the whole recommendation segment in this episode. Also, according to an etiquette expert, there is a right and wrong way to sign off your emails. She's now my favorite person. I'm just going to say it.
And actor and comedian Martin Short has a weekly ritual for checking in with himself. And sir, where is your viral self-help book?
Before we get started, though, there's one more thing I have to take up with Emily Vernon. So Outlouders might remember that one of our most controversial episodes of recent times was the one where you presented a list of things that men shouldn't do. That are only for the girls. Oh, my gosh.
Chapter 8: How do we navigate the complexities of modern email etiquette?
Very controversial. It was very, very funny and tongue-in-cheek. But the whole inspiration for that segment came from the fact that Emily Vernon is on record as saying that Instagram is... is not for men. Yeah, Instagrams for the girls. You don't trust men who have a public, I think your specificity here was, you don't trust men who have a public Instagram account. No, private only.
What do you have to show to me? I have to tell you that one Elon Musk agrees with you. So when I saw this, he went completely viral this week. And we're going to gloss over some of the very problematic things that that man goes viral for. And just stick with the bit that he said, Instagram is for girls. That was what he said. And that was it. And everybody lost their minds.
And I was like, hold up. That's what M. Vernon says.
I didn't know turning 30 would mean I'd be closer to Elon Musk.
I know. You're ideologically just... Yes, definitely. It'll be closer in that direction.
His Enneagram is type three as well. Oh, my God. Oh, my gosh. I so reckon it is. No, he'd be a challenger, I reckon. He'd have a wing. He'd have an achiever wing, I'll tell you that. He probably listened to that segment and was like, you know what? She made some good points.
Oh, my goodness.
Even though she is just a girl.
Let's move on to a non-toxic man, Claire Stephens. Actor and comedian Martin Short has a really fascinating approach to starting his week and I think we all need to try it. He does it every Monday. My issue will be remembering, A, that it's Monday and, B, that I have something to do.
