Gurdev Singh Rupana (13 April 1936 – 5 December 2021) was a distinguished Punjabi author best known for his evocative short stories that capture the lives of ordinary people. A postgraduate in Punjabi literature and PhD scholar from Delhi University, Rupana began his career as a schoolteacher in Delhi, forging close literary ties with luminaries like Amrita Pritam.
