That's next up. So this episode of Next Up is sponsored by Roe. A lot of people hear GLP one and immediately assume treatment is going to cost a fortune.

How did Rich Antoniello first get into the media business?

Mark Halperin 0:59
But GLP1 medications may be more affordable and accessible than you realize. Roe helps eligible patients find a path to FDA-approved GLP one treatment that fits their budget, whether they have insurance or are paying cash. I love that Roe makes it so easy to get started. Their free insurance checker. Let's you check whether certain GLP1 injections are covered by your insurance. You simply submit your insurance information and receive a report. with your coverage details so you can understand all your options. And if insurance doesn't cover treatment, Row also offers FDA approved cash pay GLP1 options, including pills and injections. I also appreciate that Road provides ongoing support if you become a member, including access to a provider for questions throughout the process.

I know someone who's used Row and had a very positive experience. So it's definitely an option I'd consider if I were going down the path of a GLP1 treatment. So right now go to row.co slash next up to see if you qualify. Again, that's R O. D O T C O slash next up to get started on row. And um one more thing for side effects of GLP1 medications, including boxed warning, go to r o.co slash safety. Again, that's ro.co slash safety. All right, ladies and gentlemen. Next up and joining me now Rich Antonello, founder and uh former CEO of Complex, executive chairman Uprox, and now the founder and chairman of Fort Nash. All great media properties from which there's a ton to learn. This is a gentleman who has started media companies and succeeded, which in this day and age seems easy, but it ain't.
Mark Halperin 2:39
And Rich is next up, joins us now. Thank you for being here.
Rich Antonello 2:42
Thank you very much, sir.
Mark Halperin 2:44
How did you get in the media business? Did you grow up uh as son of a newspaper publisher? How'd you do it?
Rich Antonello 2:49
Uh hardly. Um my dad was a UPS guy, so I didn't quite have exposure to professional. Um, I got into media accidentally, to be honest with you. I went to school thinking I was gonna go be a trader because where I grew up, the only way out was to make money. And the only thing that I had seen were traders and stock guys and so on and so forth. So I went to school and uh Um I had some professors who seemed to find some light in me and screaming at me not to be a finance guy, not to be an accountant, and to use my right brain, left brain creativity and push me into marketing. Got a job at Saatchi and Satchi, the largest advertising company in the world at the time, worked for Proctor, worked on Proctor and Gamble, got exposed to branding, media, and understanding uh how to change hearts and minds.
Rich Antonello 3:43
And I absolutely fell in love with it. And instead of being the evaluator of that, I figured I'd rather be the builder.
Mark Halperin 3:50
Yeah. In my career, uh some of the smartest and best builders of of media organizations have been people who came from advertising. Talk a little bit more about Sachi Tachi really, again, some people will know that name, others sadly won't, because culturally cultural literacy, really one of the great, not just ad institutions in the in the American history, one of the great institutions in American history in terms of uh the level of creativity, the power, uh, the international, national reach.
