It sounds a little morbid, but I think it's truly wonderful to think that there is not enough time to read all the books I want to read. I guess that means there's a never-ending supply, really. All those characters to embrace, all those facts to consume, all that wonder to get lost in.
As George R.R. Martin wrote, a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one. In tonight's story, we spend a little time on Cape Cod, where we meet two book lovers. Dan and Simone bond across the shelves in the town library. Then, slowly, Simone starts to realize this could be the beginning of her very own romantic tale. You know, there are a lot of different places here in Night Falls, but during the day, I still find myself wanting to learn a little more about the world. The heart of the town was Main Street, a bustling avenue with brightly coloured hanging shop signs that creaked softly in the breeze. Harbour Willow was the kind of town people flocked to in summer, but it also had a steady community year round that loved the small town charm.
On Main Street, there were plenty of antique stores filled with rare treasures, and people came from far and wide in the hope of finding something precious. No one ever visited without stopping by at the infamous diner, Maggie's, which served the best coffee and pie on the East Coast. The bakery was next door, sending the smell of warm bread onto the sidewalk every morning. At the end of the street, you'd find the old fashioned hardware store with creaky wooden floors and bins of nails. Simone Sears had lived in Harbor Willow her whole life, and she worked at the library. She loved her job, loved everything about it, from the smell of the books to the big, comfy sofas where she liked to curl up on her lunch break to read a few pages.
