Oh, it's Friday. Friday. Gotta get down on Friday. So here we go. Hopefully, you guys are doing something fun this weekend. I went to dinner last night. Well, actually, I went to see practical magic last night. And I have to say. Haters gonna hate, but it was good. It was good. I liked it a lot. I like it, Picasso. I thought that the C I was worried because I just watched Practical Magic for the first time. The other day. Um, I watched it on YouTube TV and or I think it was HBO Max. But anyway, I watched it for the first time and I was like, ooh, this movie is good. I was like, oh, it does not need a sequel. I think the sequel is going to ruin it. But the sequel did not ruin it. The sequel was good. The sequel um it it it like all just comes full circle.
And like I really was impressed by it. The story was good. The magic was fun. Like, um Yeah, it was interesting. I was like, I feel like this one's a little darker than the first one, but like obviously the first one was still kind of pretty dark. But I feel like the first one kind of was a little more whimsical, whereas this one I felt like really, um, really was uh really was good. Deanna says, wait, I heard practical magic too was terrible. I heard that it was rough too. I like I heard people were dragging it. Um, and then a friend of mine like saw it and he always does like these instruments. Instagram stories with his movie recaps. And I normally don't like to read any recaps about a movie before I see it myself because I don't want it to influence me as I go into the movie and I'm like, oh, they said this.
And let me see if I can find the criticism. I like to look just like experience the movie. I have to say, whoever lied and did not enjoy this movie, and again, this is coming off of me just watching the original for the first time and being skeptical about a second movie. I was like, it does not need a second movie. Um, it's it it's different, right? But like the heart of the show or sorry, the heart of the film is still there. Sisterhood, um, family. Bloodline, all of those like original themes, very much the same. It does, like I said, it's it's it is a little more um. Not who done it. What's the best way to describe it? Like the um the tone of it. I mean, it is it is a little like darker, like dark mat well, I guess the first one was dark magic too, right?
Because they tried to bring somebody back from the dead. But I I would just say the first one was a little more um I guess I would say a little more whimsical. Uh well, I don't know. I guess you have to watch. I'm trying to like analyze it while not giving away spoilers, but like the overarching theme, the sisters, the bloodline, the curse about not being able to find love and um yeah. really centers around like Sandra Bullock's character, which I like, you know, she kind of has to come back to herself in this movie. And I just I I I liked it. I like it, Picasso. Oh, Western Bust Burbs Christian says, I hated the sequel, but I think it's because I've watched the original 200 times growing up. Maybe. Maybe.
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Boilick look fab. They look incredible. I think because you watched the original and you know it so like intimately, it's hard like again. When I watched the original for the first time, I was like, I don't want a sequel. Um, but like I said, I was actually very impressed watching them back to back.
