ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the no laying up podcast solly here got another draft best of major championships you guys seem to really dig uh when we drafted our favorite majors best majors uh into our collection we did it again for the pga championship very different exercise we break down all of that here uh as we get into it we got three new judges this time around. So stick around to the end to see who actually wins the greatest collection draft of PGA championships. We might as well just do these for all four majors this year, assuming this is going to continue to be a hit. So thank you very much for tuning in. We'll give a shout out to our friends at Titleist, of course. Golf ball fitting.
TC 1:05
Massively important. Just ask Cameron Young. Last summer at the Wyndham, Cam moved into the Titleist Pro V1X Double Dot Golf Ball, a custom performance option that he had already provided feedback on to Titleist R&D during development. It paid off immediately. Cam went out and won by six this week, or excuse me, that week. Since the move, he's racked up nine top 10 finishes in 14 PGA Tour starts, won three times, including Sunday at Doral, and of course the Players Tour. In March, he's having a career year with his approach play, currently tracking towards career best in strokes game approach, proximity, and greens and regulation. Check out all the stats. He's basically been the second best player in the world, according to True Strokes Game, Data Golf, whatever you want to judge it by, since he switched into this golf ball, and there's no signs of him stopping.
TC 1:50
He said it best about the new golf ball. This makes golf easier for me, and it looks very easy for him. It just looks like he's not even thinking about the golf shots when he goes and stands over it. He's just hitting it, so... Cam has very unique launch conditions, so the double dot probably isn't the answer for you. That's not what I'm trying to tell you, but I am trying to tell you, no matter your game, that's what it feels like when you find the right golf ball.

How do the hosts prepare for the PGA Championship draft?

We are back here to draft our best PGAs, favorite PGAs. It is, you know, did you want to explain the, if people maybe missed the master's draft, explain kind of the thought process of how we're doing this.
DJ 2:53
Yeah, I think we started just trying to get people frothed up for the masters, which is, which is turns out very easy to do. Right. And so we're just kind of like, well, you know, let's get in a, in a digital room and just start chopping it up about old masters. Everybody pick your favorites, put together a little collection. Uh, and then that went well and we kind of painted ourselves into a corner. I feel like where it's like, well, now we gotta do the PGA. Uh, and it's just very different exercise, TC. I mean, this is a, this is a very different situation.
Soly 3:19
yeah uh i've never felt more confident that the pga should just blow everything up rethink rethink it all a lot of golf courses that don't exist anymore a lot of golf courses in ohio as you mentioned a lot of random places in new york
TC 3:37
