Search Duncan Garner editors. editor in chief on Rover, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Not for radio, with J und Dunk. Yummy. Welcome to Knopfer Radio Friday
edition. Uh Jay and uh or J Jay and Dunk, if you're watching this. Um good to have you back in. How are sniper art?
Head of a big Waz game, hence the Up the Waz hats that we um we got from our good buddy. Knuckles at Country Trucker Caps. These were made for the actual family, for the Robinsons, for hosting him in the uh in the Waz box. The ultimate gift. And now the only place you can get them is by going to the box and they've got them all there. All the family were wearing them. The mad butcher had one on his head at the game last weekend. It's great to see.
Yeah, that was cool. Uh I cracked up laughing and saying of course one ended up on his head like the most iconic league person that's not a league player in the country.
He um he got another award too at the the Warriors Awards on I think it's like a lifetime I'm thinking like an esteemed lifetime award. Nice. Um him, Robo and Cam George all got them. Yeah, suck. Which is w thoroughly deserved.
So that's our beloved Warriors rugby league team. Uh the only one in the National Rugby League comp that plays over in Australia if you're new to the podcast. Uh I thought oh shit, somebody yanked my head off the friggin' long chord. I thought s today, guys, I'd whip out the first ever Warriors Jersey I got. Oh
no.
That has been through the motherfucking rugby dust. And it's been through a lot of fucking rugby trainings. Look at the back. Hanging on for dear life. That is awesome. And you'll notice so how funny is that? So when I was on in high school I got this from
That's fucking awesome. That's a ninety fiver.
Oh yeah. This is OG OG. And so when I got um uh this from Snaky Boy of all people, who's um obviously a big listener of the podcast, you'll know Brett Um we're talking about a lot of the radio show as well. The reason it doesn't have any badges As he ended up getting these badges and putting them on a newer jersey, had he got his mum to unpack them? And so he gifted me when I didn't have one and we were fucking watching the Warriors one day, he gifted me this jumper and I've worn it fucking at the fish and chip shop rugby trainings. Keep it forever. It it smelled like a bucket of fucking mothballs and I put it on this morning. But it's got some stretch in it 'cause it's bloody old now.
Well, those are the three quarter sleeves. I love those three quarter sleeves. I think if we uh I mean and this is open to interpretation, like we are gonna have a handle on the Northern Hemisphere design jersey. And I think a three quarter sleeve should be in the mixer. Like I love those. Which also
makes it feel like getting down a bit of fucking business, but uh. Yeah.
I like the I like a placard front as well, which is what they went with with a Christchurch jersey. I like the old school, you know. I really, really like the old school. I like how faded and fucked that is, how it's hanging by a thread stretched over the carcass.
In there. So uh Sunday, Sunday, six PM they play, which be six AM, six or seven AM um Northern Hemisphere time for those in the UK, um, obviously America, then you have to figure that out. It's probably an absolute prick of a time. Uh but six PM Sunday, the Warriors playing and uh heavy favourite sold out Eden Park, which is our national stadium, it'll be the biggest league crowd they've ever had at Eden Park.
It's the biggest league crowd they've ever had in New Zealand.
