Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Corva Coleman. China's been speaking out against the US capture of deposed Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Still, China gets far more oil from the Middle East and Russia and has been shifting away from Venezuela. Muy Shu, a senior analyst of the commodities research from Kepler, says China increasingly relies on Russian energy. Chinese independent refiners are snapping up Russian barrels as fast as they can. And she says part of the shadow fleet of ships that once covertly transported oil from Venezuela to China may now be diverted to Iran and Russia.
