Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Live from NPR News, I'm Lakshmi Singh.
Chapter 2: What law enforcement action is the FBI executing in Georgia?
The FBI says it is executing a court-authorized law enforcement action at a location in Georgia that is home to the Fulton County Election Office. It is unclear if it has to do with the 2020 election interference case against President Trump. Late last year, a judge dismissed the case, and the Justice Department announced it was suing Fulton County for 2020-related records.
For the last six years, Trump has alleged the election he lost to former President Joe Biden was rigged. Courts and election officials concluded the opposite. President Trump is continuing to make his economic pitch as he faces growing pressure to address affordability concerns. NPR's Frank Ordonez reports.
President Trump kicked off his campaigning for the midterm elections this week. He first traveled to Iowa to talk about the economy and energy. Today, he's staying in Washington, D.C., and promoting the launch of a long-term savings program that the administration calls Trump Accounts.
We're going to give every newborn American child a financial stake in the future, a head start to life, and a fair shot at the American dream.
Trump is urging parents to open the accounts where, starting this July, the federal government will deposit $1,000 for every baby born between 2025 and 2028. The money is then invested in the stock market and can be accessed when they turn 18. Franco Ordonez, NPR News, the White House.
President Trump still faces fury over his hardline immigration policy with Minnesota's Twin Cities at the center of it. Today, Customs and Border Patrol confirmed two officers were put on administrative leave in connection with Saturday's shooting death of Alex Prette, an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.
He was killed weeks after Renee Good's encounter with an immigration agent ended her life. They were both 37 years old. Their deaths are under investigation. The United Kingdom's prime minister arrived in China today for a three-day visit. He is the first U.K. leader to visit China in eight years. NPR's Lauren Frayer reports from London.
U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer wants to thaw British-Chinese relations and boost trade. He traveled to China with a plane load of CEOs from British banks and tech companies, but also the head of Table Tennis England and the director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and addressed them after landing in Beijing.

Chapter 3: How is President Trump addressing economic concerns during his campaign?
NPR's Kirk Sigler reports the move appears to work around the authority of local recovery planners.
Trump's order says wildfire victims should be able to rebuild without quote duplicative or obstructive requirements. He's directing FEMA and Homeland Security to preempt local officials who issue building permits. The number of building permits issued in the L.A. fire zones is still sluggish at around 1,300 to date.
Likely the biggest delay in rebuilding is not red tape, but the fact that scores of fire victims are still in insurance limbo. Governor Gavin Newsom accuses the president of deliberately slowing recovery, noting only a fraction of the billions of promised federal aid has been sent to California fire victims. Kirk Ziegler, NPR News.
Japan's last two pandas have returned to China, and Japan will not receive others from China's panda breeding program. And PR's Emily Fang explains.
The pandas Xiaoxiao and Leilei have arrived back in their native Sichuan province. China has developed an advanced panda breeding program and loans the black and white animals out to other countries for a hefty fee as a symbol of friendship. But this panda diplomacy has not been able to patch tensions between Tokyo and Beijing.
Beijing has canceled some tourism to Japan, reimposed import bans on Japanese seafood, and even canceled some Japanese performances in China after their prime minister described a potential future Chinese invasion of Taiwan as an existential-level threat to Japan. Emily Fang, NPR News. This is NPR.
