Adorned with flowers, photographs, and toys, a simple chain link fence in downtown Kerrville has become a gathering place for Central Texans mourning more than 130 people. Geraldine Granado is spending her days volunteering at the memorial. She says the wall has become a place to grieve and find peace, and more people visit every day.

You're listening to NPR News in Washington. India has ordered its airlines to check fuel control switches on Boeing jets. Amkar Kondikur reports the switches have come under scrutiny after a Boeing seven eighty seven jet flown by Air India crashed last month, killing two hundred and sixty people.
The Indian Aviation Regulator has ordered all of its airlines to inspect the switches on its Boeing planes within a week. This after a report Indian investigators released over the weekend finding the fuel switches on last month's crashed flight had moved from run position to cutoff shortly after takeoff without the knowledge of its pilots. These switches control fuel supply to the plane engines. The report also said that there would be no action against Boeing at this stage. According to Reuters, Boeing and the US Federal Aviation Administration have said in an internal notification that the fuel switch locks are safe.
