Rioters chanted Send them home and save our kids, and threw bottles and smoke flares at police vans blocking the entrance to the hotel. Many of the demonstrators had come from around the UK to join the riots, which local police say descended into mindless thuggery. It's the latest flare up of violence there. Tensions have been high in the area after an asylum seeker appeared in court, charged with sexual assault.
